In the annual publication highlighting "The Great Challenges of Global Health," one focus is on diseases related to heart failure. Monitoring Life was featured as a company making a genuine impact on patients’ health through our AI-driven technology, addressing the need for cardiologists to monitor patients suffering from this disease.
In an interview, our CEO and founder, Vicente Copoví, and CTO and co-founder, Carlos Porras, explain the reasons behind developing a solution for heart failure, a leading cause of death worldwide, affecting over 64 million people.
During the interview, they outline how our device empowers patients to monitor their health from home, eliminating the need for routine hospital visits and saving time and resources. Doctors benefit by accessing a detailed, real-time view of each patient’s health and trends in their progress. They can also use the device for other conditions or monitor patients who are using specific medications.
For hospitals, our solution significantly reduces the care burden, allowing doctors more time to focus on patients with severe conditions, and most importantly, lowers hospitalization costs. In Spain alone, more than €3.6 billion is spent on heart failure care, representing 4% of the country’s total healthcare expenditure.
According to our CTO, Sensocor is unique as the first device worldwide to offer a comprehensive view of both the electrical and mechanical functions of the heart, combining ECG and PCG data with heart sounds. It is non-invasive, user-friendly, and fully standalone.
Concluding the interview, our team highlights that, like every health startup developing a medical device, obtaining the CE Mark is a critical milestone, with the potential to reach a 10% market share and 800,000 users globally.
